About the producer

Dani Alkmin comes from a long line of coffee producers in Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais. She runs Agrorigem, an export operation connecting local farmers to the international market, and is a leading voice for women in coffee globally.

This lot comes from her family's own farm, where her father Carlos has grown coffee since 1983.

Where it comes from

Carmo de Minas sits in the Sul de Minas zone of Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's most celebrated coffee-producing states. The region is known for its high altitudes, distinct dry seasons, and a culture of meticulous processing, conditions that consistently produce some of the country's highest-scoring lots.

Processing notes

Honey processing sits between washed and natural. The cherry is pulped but some mucilage is left on during drying. How much mucilage and how long it dries determines the style: yellow, red, and black honey. This lot is yellow process, the lightest with the least mucilage.
