Description
A very fruit-forward aroma! There is a syrupy sweet undertone throughout the cup. This finishes with a slight bitterness that reminds us of black tea..."berry" satisfying! This cup is creamy, restrained, and easy to love.

About the producer
Gitesi washing station works with more than 1,800 smallholder farmers in the Karongi region, each delivering hand-picked cherries throughout the harvest. The station fosters long-term relationships with its farmers by paying an additional dividend at the end of each season based on overall performance.
Where it comes from
Karongi, Rwanda, a lush valley at 1,740m, surrounded by ridges climbing to 2,000m where the majority of the coffee is grown.
Processing notes
This lot is a natural (dry process) coffee, meaning the whole cherry is dried intact before milling. The fruit dries slowly on raised beds under the sun, allowing the cherry's natural sugars to absorb into the seed over time, this is where that syrupy sweetness and fruit intensity come from. Gitesi grades their coffee as A1, the top-quality tier, reflecting strict sorting standards.
